The annual GSA conference (5th – 7th July) Globalizing Cultures and Identities: Sport, Lifestyle, Heritage will feature several specially commissioned panels exploring the themes of the conference:
- ‘Cricket and globalization’ (in conjunction with the British Sociological Association): convened by Dominic Malcolm and featuring papers by Amit Gupta and Habib Khondker
- ‘Cosmopolitanism’: convened by Maria Rovisco
- ‘Europe in the world’: convened by Didem Buhari-Gulmez
- ‘Europe and the world’: convened by Didem Buhari-Gulmez
- ‘Changing Turkey in a changing world’ (in conjunction with the Changing Turkey in a Changing World Research Group): convened by Didem Buhari-Gulmez
Further special panels are planned on ‘The Olympic Games’, ’Systemic approaches to IR’, and ‘Global heritage’. Watch this space.
